Philip is an experienced business leader having held senior management roles with major New Zealand and Global organisations.  He has a broad base of knowledge across the FMCG sector and service industries both within New Zealand and in several European countries.

Philip decided to go into Business Consulting as he is very driven by helping others reach their full potential.

Creating a vision for the future that is focused on business growth and development leads to achieving commercial success.  Philip assists in achieving this by clearly defining strategies with agreed outcomes and engaging all the required stakeholders to deliver those outcomes.

Philip started his career in the hospitality sector in Ireland, the UK and continental Europe and migrated to New Zealand some years ago.  In New Zealand, Philip moved into other areas of the Food & Beverage sector including venue & commercial catering and national retail operations.

Philip spent many years focusing on the beverage sector, working with major New Zealand and Global companies and international brands in various roles.

Philip is keen on helping businesses (medium to smaller in size) improve their current performance and finds this work extremely motivating.  Philip brings a variety of strategies and tools to help businesses build on their current strengths and potential opportunities, while helping to ensure the most effective results are achieved.

Philip’s business experience is broad and includes:

  • Financial Management: Planning and delivering against financial objectives while carefully managing a variety of budgets (expenses, sales, overheads, cash flow etc.)

  • Planning: Developing business, operations, sales, and marketing plans based on comprehensive market analysis coupled with strategic plan development and tactical business plan implementation

  • Operations: Extensive experience in large, multi-site retail, supermarket, hotel, restaurant, and service delivery operations

  • Leadership: Experienced in small/medium business here in NZ as part of a major multinational organisation

  • Assisting business owners/managers achieve their personal and business’ full potential

  • New business ventures, start-ups and business re-launches

  • Business set-up; Finance, Procurement, Commercial equipment, Store layouts

  • Staffing and Team Leadership and management

Philip is married to Margaret who is a kindergarten teacher. They have two grown up daughters who are actively following their dreams both in New Zealand and overseas.  Philip believes in “paying back” and to that end is involved in several volunteer organisations focusing on helping others achieve their full potential.
